Review
'This is a stimulating book about the complexity, profitability (or, rather, non-profitably) and management of international airlines. The author has included anecdotes from his own experiences and written in a lucid, thought-provoking way that will encourage a wider interest in an industry that provides much benefit to world economic activity.' Roger Wootton, City University London, UK '"Do you want to know a secret?" You should read Paul Clark's new book, Stormy Skies, "Eight days a week". "Ask me why?" Because it has masterfully written essays dealing with most relevant issues facing the airline industry today in a refreshing and interesting way.' Adam Pilarski, Avitas, USA 'As books on air transport economics go, this has to be regarded as a rather unusual volume. It is written in the vernacular of everyday English, in a style very much journalistic in nature. The result is a most readable, interesting and stimulating book which, despite being so easy to read, does in fact take the reader quite some distance into the various topics discussed; and it is all so beautifully expressed.' Aerospace Professional, September 2011

A must-have book for airline professionals
By GerardR
This book is a gem. The book's style and content shows that the author has reflected carefully on the state of the airline industry and how it got there. Bringing his broad and deep industry experience into play and including the views of senior industry players from Boeing (as well as those of his former Airbus colleagues) and major airlines, he has produced a book which is more than the sum of its parts and thus deserves a broad audience. It is just as valuable as other industry standard books such as "Flying off course", while being much more readable. As an airline professional engineer with 25 years experience, including a light background in aircraft evaluation, I recommend it not just to those with commercial roles, but also to all those who want a better understanding of the industry from an insider's perspective.
