The recent horror/suspense film called The Ring was a remake of the Japanese film Ringu, which was in turn based on a 1991 novel that is now appearing in English for the first time. The novel, which tells the story of a journalist investigating the apparently simultaneous deaths of four teenagers, begins as a traditional mystery. But it glides smoothly into horror when the journalist discovers that all four victims watched a videotape that guaranteed their deaths in one week if they did not do a certain thing (details are missing from the tape). If the journalist can't figure out what happened, he, too, the tape prophesizes, is doomed. Told with a minimum of horror cliches, the novel creates a sense of slowly mounting dread, as though something unpleasant is inevitable, and we are powerless to stop it. With the release of The Ring (and its Japanese inspiration) on video (and talk of a sequel to the American film), this novel is sure to be much in demand among both mystery and horror fans. Must Read, Ring

I think people should read this... If not for the fact you're a fan of movies like "The Ring" or "Ringu"; but because it works so much of the plot together rather masterfully. The translation isn't perfect; but it conveys the general feel I was hoping to get from reading this book... It's way more imaginative than the movies, and after reading this think that the movies shouldn't of played around with the lore as much as they did. It might be worth it to watch Ringu Kanzenban, since it's more closely related to the happenings in the book. With how oddly the plot flows in the movies, the transitions make sense in this book. In the movies it goes from A to B to C to D; but in this book it's more like A to AB to ABC to ABCD: The natural flow is just better. You can understand how the beginning is related to the end, rather than missing pieces of internal monologue, that would be important to understand how it's progressing.

You won't regret this one!

Firstly, I have not watched the film of this book.
I'm not too keen on horror/creepy movies because of those dang 'pop out' scenes.. I jump every time, even if I know something is coming, LOL.
So, I can't compare this to the film, but it was a bloody brilliant book! It was creepy and mysterious.
I read it in 2 sittings (I stopped last night, he he, it was getting dark!!)
You will not be able to put it down because you want to know what happened.
To me this seemed more like a mystery (albeit, a creepy one) than true horror, but don't let that deter you.

I was left with one question, which I think I can state without ruining it, what about the phone?! Wasn't that an important detail?! I never figured it out... Bah, well, I am a world class idiot when it comes to figuring things out (For instance, I never know 'whodunit?')

I will definitely be buying the next two books and anxiously awaiting for them to arrive.

I expected a lot more

This book had moments of being quite good and some really wonderful prose in places, but the overall story left me feeling unsatisfied and very detached. I really didn't care about whether the main character died or lived, because not only was his back-story completely lacking, but he was such an unpleasant, selfish person that I found myself completely indifferent to his fate. Upping the stakes by having his wife and child involved seemed haphazard and tacked on, as though the author realised his main character was unsympathetic and he needed a reason to make the reader care.

And then there was the utter confusion of genre. It's a sort of conglomeration of horror, thriller, literary fiction and drama, and can never seem to decide which one it wants to be. The literary aspects were, for me, the weakest and the most badly handled. The attempts at exploring morals were artificial and never fully fleshed out. Ryuji's character suddenly being absolved at the end was just ridiculous to me, and the "did he/didn't he" question was brought in too late for me to give a damn.

Then there's the story itself, which borders on the ridiculous. This mix of medical horror meets ghost story became to feel like the author was trying too hard to make it shocking. Finally, it wasn't scary at any point and that really disappointed me. The build-up of tension was poor, and the constant head-hopping and interior monologue killed any chance of any being developed. Overall, I didn't hate the book and I enjoyed it in parts, but I certainly couldn't say it was a good, or effective book on any level.

Although I do not now have a copy of John F. Kennedy's The Strategy of Peace, I read it as a teenager and was so impressed by the brilliant new President-elect. He seemed to have a special concern for freedom for the new countries that had been ruled by colonial powers. One piece was an argument for independence for Algeria. At the time he made that speech (I recall that as being the original form of that chapter) Algeria was still ruled by France. Kennedy became President in 1961 and Algeria got its independence in 1962, after a long war. He was very concerned with Africa. He wrote about the Middle East including the State of Israel. He wanted the loyalty oath repealed. He was concerned with US-USSR relations. Scholars had a special duty to the country. If you can get a copy please do.

John F. Kennedy's, "The Strategy of Peace," was written for his 1960 campaign and reflects on the major events of the time, and his proposed policies on all regions of the world. If you read this book now, some forty years later, you can see that he not only predicted disasters in dealing with Indochina and Cuba, he proposes ways of dealing with them that were over looked by Lyndon Johnson and every other Vietnam-era president.

Reality Beats Down Idealism

It is fair to note that had Christina Asquith taught in a more affluent part of Philadelphia or a middle class suburban community, she probably couldn't write a book about her one-year experience as a teacher. Before being trained as such (even trained teachers have to struggle in the beginning by learning on the job) she should not have accepted a teaching job from a district which would simply throw her to the wolves, as such. As she pointed out, a few teachers in this abysmal school were dynamic and great managers of their classes. And it seems true (was for me, at least) that it takes about three years to build ones teaching techniques--and maybe five years to really feel confident. But Asquith had an unfortunate placement in a tragically-run school.

Nevertheless, Asquith's portrayal of the (reputed) worst school in Philadelphia (and too many others come close) is heart-rending and shocking, and the revelation an embarrassment to the district--let's hope.

The author had it many times harder than I. How she held on for a full school year is a testament to her character in the face of the school district's incompetence. The book is more revelatory than inspirational, and though a fast and sometimes engrossing read it is rather depressing. I think a prospective teacher--who isn't desperate--would tend to not teach in a big-city public school after reading this account.

I retired a few months before Asquith started her experiment in teaching, and my school (after at least 30 years of relative calm) was just starting to become infected by students creating bedlam in their classrooms and hallways. I had good control, was creative and motivational, but even my tolerence with the system forced me and other veterans in the school to take the early retirement incentive being offered by the state (so the district could hire two new teachers for the price of one veteran with higher degrees). We could see what was coming.

Now, the reader will understand why 50 percent of new hires leave teaching within 3-5 years--the shorter time representing big-city public schools. Teaching can be very rewarding, but also one of the toughest jobs there is, and the emotional stress is equal to that of a police person "on the beat"--I've read.

The following partial paragraph from page 98, gives a sense of the entire book:

"I'd set out wholly single-mindedly to learn to teach, and suddenly my failure became a real possibility. Absolutely the BEST book I've read about education!

You will not regret this purchase.

Journalist Christina Asquith gives the reader a gripping behind-the-scenes tour of an underprivileged school and the students trapped inside its decrepit structure.

Asquith's credentials make her a credible source on education. Her bio states she has written education stories for major national newspapers including The New York Times, and she has a master's degree in Educational Philosophy. These experiences factored into the quality of her writing, making "The Emergency Teacher" a solid investigative piece, an entralling story and a perfect training manual for teachers.

The nonfiction storyline highlights her one year as an emergency-certified teacher. Bits of history are integrated with dialogue that reads like a diary. Her writing welcomes you into her living room, offers you a fresh cup of coffee, and makes you feel involved in the plot. As a reader, I felt as if she was speaking to me as her equal, leaving behind the pretensions some authors carry into their writing. The engaging tone will be especially useful for teachers who feel lost and alone; Asquith's prose is the emotional equivalent of chatting with your best friend after a hard day: you immediately feel understood and empowered as you share advice, laughs and tears.

Like any good teacher, she entertained me, held my attention and made me care about the content. Like any good reporter, she candidly exposes the corruption, apathy and useless bureaucracy that infest far too many school districts. Along the way, I became emotionally invested in the book's main characters - the 6th graders. I didn't want to give up hope that they would somehow become "successful" due to her influence. In the end, I not only questioned my definition of "success," but also realized facilitating change in a child's life is neither quick nor easy.

Asquith took a brief recess from journalism to teach in one of the toughest neighborhoods in America. Young and idealistic, her mission was to transform her students' lives. She discovers that idealism is empty without realism, which was one of the primary themes I took away from "The Emergency Teacher."

If you have ever wanted to make a difference, this is the book that shows you how. I learned this "difference" might not always be what we intend or envision, but a child's life can be dramatically improved if we accept the challenge. Those involved in public school education - taxpayers, parents, journalists, teachers and policymakers -should read this book as the first proactive step in saving a struggling system. If the class crisis in America is fueled in part by the deficiencies in our children's classrooms, it is our responsibility to focus on what's going wrong. Social problems such as poverty and racism can be traced back, at least partially, to lack of education; this book shows you why and starts the conversation about solutions.

After the final chapter, you'll see the big picture, while also finding yourself attached to the little people lost in a system that has promised not to abandon them.

If you become angry or depressed by what you read, it is only because you have been shown the truth. If you take that information and act upon it, this book will have served its purpose: inner-city youth finally will receive the education they deserve.

No Experience Necessary

How many employment opportunities require minimal or absolutely no experience required? I certainly didn't expect that teaching would be one of them when I first looked into substitute teaching.

There are some areas in the U.S. where substitute teaching requires an actual teaching degree. These jobs are filled by newly graduated or retired teachers. There are other areas in this country where "some" college or simply a H.S. diploma is the requirement.

The difference comes down to supply and demand economics. If you have an excess of talent in a small market, you will almost certainly need a master's degree to step into a teacher's role for the day.

I just finished reading "The Emergency Teacher" that relates the first hand account of Christina Asquith's first year as a full time teacher at one of the worst schools in Philadelphia, despite being untrained and uncertified.

Synopsis:

"School District of Philadelphia, in desperate need of 1,500 new teachers, instituted a policy of hiring "emergency certified" instructors. Asquith, then a 25-year-old reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer, joined their untrained ranks. More challenging than her classroom in the crime-infested neighborhood known as "the Badlands" are the trials she faced outside, including a corrupt principal, the politics that prevented a million-dollar grant from reaching her students, and the administration's shocking insistence that teachers maintain the appearance of success in the face of utter defeat..."

She lasted a full 180 day school year and didn't result in the typical Hollywood ending.

That's 179 more days than I would have attempted had I been crazy enough to try. I guess that's the difference between being young, idealistic and full of energy .vs. mature (re: much older), realistic and pooped.

A terrific verse novel with a wide range of appeal

Kwame Alexander's newest novel, THE CROSSOVER, is a verse tour de force. It's told through poems by the main character, Josh Bell a.k.a. Filthy McNasty. He and his twin brother Jordan (JB) are talented basketball players, but jealousy threatens to split them apart when JB gets a girlfriend.

I love how many levels of story are woven into this novel.

THE CROSSOVER is the kind of book I never would've picked up when I was younger because I didn't like sports. There is the sports story promised by the cover, all leading up to a big championship game, but it is far from the only plotline. Nor is it the most important plotline. That's reserved for all the family stuff.

There's the relationship between the brothers, at times super close and at other times strained. In fact, the first real schism in the story is when JB accidentally forces Josh to get his head shaved. Before, Josh's locks were his pride and separated him from his bald brother. Then, there is the relationship with the boys' parents, especially their father, a former basketball player and the man who taught them the game. Their parents' worries are on the fringe of Josh's awareness, but most readers will be able to put the pieces together. And, although she is a small part, the girl "Sweet Tea" is still shown to be a person, a talented basketball player in her own right and pissed off by the physical signs of Josh's jealousy, frustration, and confusion.

All of this is conveyed so elegantly by the language.

Alexander's poetry flows easily and tells the story in short pieces, making THE CROSSOVER inviting to reluctant and casual readers. At the same time, it's a sophisticated and rewarding form. For instance, the poems recounting games use lots of clever formatting, including different font sizes and diagonal lines to convey the intensity and movement of the action. They also use more rhymes than the other poems, like the rhythm of a bouncing ball. Unfortunately, I did think the poem describing the championship game was out of place. It was an abrupt switch in tone from the poems before and after it, even if it did match the other basketball poems. There might've been stylistic switches between other poems, but rarely a tone switch. It was jarring, and right at the height of THE CROSSOVER's effectiveness.

Going back to appealing to multiple types of readers, THE CROSSOVER is set in middle school and aimed at younger readers. I felt that there wasn't much that separated it from a young adult novel, except periodic references to the grade level or school assignments like THE GIVER. It particularly felt more young adult to me when Jordan contemplated which college he wanted to go to to play ball. I'm sure middle school kids daydream about a future in the NCAA, but this felt more immediate and serious. I gave some leeway since Jordan was the son of a successful player and has a better chance of making it, but it still felt off to me. What I'm getting at is I think high school students would really enjoy THE CROSSOVER too, but I can't see many high school students picking up a book about a thirteen year old.

THE CROSSOVER thrilled me, and I can't wait to read it again and pick more closely through the details.

I rarely have time to do that with all the review books on my shelves, but hey, I can take it one poem at a time. (Advantage of the form!) I also think I'll return to it because it is such a great family story. Oftentimes, children's books dispatch with the parents in order to focus on the kids doing things they probably wouldn't get away with if there were two loving, attentive parents in the picture. Josh's parents teach him, guide him, and discipline him like real parents.

Look, no one has to convert me to novels in verse. I've thought that they're the bees' knees since I first read Sonya Sones. I think THE CROSSOVER has the power to convert new readers to the awesomeness that is novels in verse. It certainly convinced me of its own awesomeness.

Loved it!

I've been putting off reading this book because it's a sports book, and I don't really enjoy most sports books. Which is really rather odd since I do enjoy watching them. But after reading this I can easily see why it has received so much acclaim. It's a beautifully written, powerful story about family and change. I sat down to read this and I was immediately impressed with the verse. The language drew me in and made me care about Josh and his family. The exciting poems that were about actually playing basketball were so well done that I could see Josh on the floor making for the basket.

It always amazes me when an author creates a powerful story in verse, in so few words. The characters here are vivid and clear, each one shines through as an individual, which is all the more interesting since the story is told from Josh's point of view. The plot revolves around Josh's love of basketball, his father's refusal to see a doctor, and his brother's gaining a girlfriend. Except for basketball, Josh's world is shaken to the core by his father's ongoing refusal to address physical problems, and his brother's focus on his new girlfriend. His frustration leads him to do something he greatly regrets. The climax was a shock although I should have seen it coming, there were certainly enough clues. But when you don't want something to happen, it's easy not to be prepared when it happens, even when it's in a story.

I'd say this is definitely one of the best books I've read in the last year and I highly recommend it.

About the Author
Diane Ravitch�was born in Houston, Texas, and graduated from the Houston public schools, Wellesley College, and Columbia University. She is a research professor of education at New York University. She was appointed to the National Assessment Governing Board by President Bill Clinton in 1997 and 2001. Ravitch is the author of ten previous books. In 2011, she received the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Prize from the American Academy of Political and Social Science. Ravitch lives in Brooklyn, New York.

Reign of Error: A Review

Dr. Ravitch shatters one corporate reform myth after another with clarity providing excellent background information in the Notes and Appendix of this book.

Because of her courageousness and direct approach, expect the corporate media to attack her because no one is left standing in this book, at least on the reform side, from President Obama's support of school privatization to the machinations of Michelle Rhee.

This book is a perfect reference guide to all things ed reform. Don't understand much about test scores? Check out the chapters "The Facts About Test Scores" and "The Facts About International Test Scores". Don't know the history of Michelle Rhee? Go to "The Mystery of Michele Rhee". How about the Parent Trigger? Read the chapter "Parent Trigger or Parent Tricker". (Love the title).

The best part is that after Dr. Ravitch explains all things corporate reform, she provides real solutions to the challenges of public education. The answers aren't easy, there is no silver bullet as she explains, but the solutions are based on a wide range and depth of knowledge, history, experience and good old-fashion common sense.

And the cover? You can't miss it. A marketing ploy? Possibly. This book will stand out in bookstores and in history as a go-to guide on public education in this decade.

Now for some specifics.

In the Introduction, Dr. Ravitch states:

"The purpose of this book is to answer four questions.

First, is American education in crisis?

Second, is American education failing and declining?

Third, what is the evidence for the reforms now being promoted by the federal government
and adopted in many states?

Fourth, what should we do to improve our schools and the lives of children?"

A tall order but Dr. Ravitch accomplishes this by the end of the book and beyond with a comprehensive set of book notes and an appendix with all of the graphs and charts that any statistician would love.

Each chapter is detailed with information that makes this book an excellent reference guide.

In her chapter, "Our Schools Are at Risk", Dr. Ravitch states:

"Public education is not broken. It is not failing or declining. The diagnosis is wrong, and the solutions of the corporate reformers are wrong. Our urban schools are in trouble because of concentrated poverty and racial segregation. But public education is not "broken". Public education is in a crisis only so far as society is and only so far as this new narrative of crisis has destabilized it."

Dr. Ravitch continues further in the chapter:

"As a society, we must establish goals, strategies, and programs to reduce poverty and racial segregation. Only by eliminating opportunity gaps can we eliminate achievement gaps. Poor and immigrant children need the same sorts of schools that wealthy children have, only more so. Those who start life with the fewest advantages need even smaller class sizes, even more art, science and music to engage them, to spark their creativity, and to fulfill their potential."

In the chapter "The Context for Corporate Reform", Dr. Ravitch describes the hidden cost of the Common Core Standards, the part that the US Department of Education does not explain to the states or school districts. The estimate is $16 billion.

She then goes into more detail about the Common Core Standards, how it has not been field tested and yet has been embraced by edupreneurs thanks to the efforts of the Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, and his Chief of Staff, Joanne Weiss, formerly with the New Schools Venture Fund.

Dr. Ravitch has done her homework.

On the subject of test scores, Dr. Ravitch in the chapter titled "The Facts About Test Scores", describes in detail the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) reporting on student test scores in the US and abroad, how they should be interpreted and points out that Guggenheim, in his movie "Waiting for Superman", misinterpreted the test scores.

In her chapter titled "The Facts About the Achievement Gap", Ravitch responds to the claim that the corporate reform movement is the "civil rights issue of our time". Dr. Ravitch writes:

"It defies reason to believe that Martin Luther King, Jr. would march arm in arm with Wall Street hedge fund managers and members of ALEC to lead a struggle for the privatization of public education, the crippling of unions, and the establishment of for-profit schools. Privatization inevitably means deregulation, greater segregation, and less equity, with minimal oversight by public authorities. Privatization has typically not been a friend to powerless groups."

Then Dr. Ravitch continues with a thorough evaluation of what is termed "The Achievement Gap".

In her chapter "The Contradictions of Charter Schools", Dr. Ravitch writes:

"Reasonable people may reach different conclusions on the question of whether charter schools are truly public schools. Charter school operators have asked the courts and the National Labor Relations Board to rule that they are private entities, private employers and private contractors. This seems reason enough to conclude that they are private actors and that their expansion represents privatization."

Later in the chapter, Dr. Ravitch breaks down the amount of money spent on students in charter schools as opposed to students in public schools. Charter schools spend significantly less on their pupils than their public school counterparts and instead spend more money on administration, not teachers.

Next, Charter Management Organizations (CMO's) and Educational Management Organizations (EMO's). Diane Ravitch describes how they drain school districts of money. She also describes online learning with a focus on the financial enterprise, Rocketship, and how that style of education compares to students attending a private school. It doesn't.

In the "Parent Trigger, Parent Tricker" chapter, Dr. Ravitch describes the involvement of the Parent Revolution with the Adelanto and McKinley schools in California. If you are not familiar with these schools and what happened, read the book. Again, Ravitch goes into detail on the subject of the Parent Trigger and the Parent Revolution.

There is a chapter titled "Schools Don't Improve if They Are Closed". The title says it all in terms of the goals of ed reformers, to close schools if they are "failing"...and then turn them into charter schools. This chapter exposes the fact there is no evidence that closing schools aids the students or their community and in fact hinders the educational process.

Chapter 21 starts with solutions to the issue of public education and how to reach the goals that most of us share, an educated citizenry that has a solid knowledge base and is capable of critical and creative thought.

I'm not going to describe the solutions. You'll need to read the book for that critical piece.

What I will say is buy two copies of this book, one for you and another for a friend, parent, teacher, an administrator or anyone else who wants to gain insight into where we are, where we need to be and how to get there.

Ravitch serves up the main course

It was a foreshadowing event in 2011 when Diane Ravitch received the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Prize from the American Academy of Political and Social Science. Moynihan believed that ”Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts.” Diane Ravitch expounds on that philosophy in her new book, Reign of Error. Within the first few pages of her book, Ravitch artfully unmasks the agenda of the ‘education reformers’. She states,

Recognizing that most Americans have a strong attachment to their community schools, the corporate reformers have taken care to describe their aims in psuedo-populist terms. While trying to scare us with warnings of dire peril, they mask their agenda with rhetoric that is soothing and deceptive.

In Reign of Error, Ravitch provides proof, back by solid research, that the corporate reformers have presented their opinions as facts. She addresses every single claim these corporate reforms use as a pretext to attack our nation’s public school structure, our nation’s teachers, and our nation’s unions. She includes the research, charts, tables, and empirical studies that form the strong foundation of her work.

Ravitch provides the proof, that our schools are not failing, the achievement gap is closing, we are not falling behind other nations, high school and graduation rates are at all time highs, poverty is being ignored, test scores are not the way to evaluate teachers, merit pay is a failure, and the importance of tenure. Ravitch exposes the audacity of Michelle Rhee, charter schools, parent trigger and virtual schools. Ravitch also lays out a clear concise course of action towards the essentials of a good education. Challenging our nation to reverse the reformists aims towards destruction.

The reformers are already attacking Ravitch’s masterpiece with rhetoric fueled by ad hominem attacks. That’s the first clue, Ravitch has it right. Opinion does not stand up to facts.

The thousand of educators that follow Ravitch’s blog, will realize that Ravitch has only fed us a daily appetizer with her multiple postings. Reign of Error is the much anticipated main course, served up on a silver platter with all the trimmings.

This is a must read for all those who value our nation’s most valuable assets, our children and their public schools. Arm yourself with the facts.. Moynihan was right.

Ravitch: Modern-Day Dewey

While the title smacks of sensationalism, Reign of Error is actually a methodical dismantling of the many myths degrading public education and a detailed historical account of the privatization movement fueling the myths. Ravitch was soul searching in The Death and Life of the Great American School System. In Reign of Error, Ravitch has found her voice. She is unapologetic in her defense of public schools and takes on the reformers intent on injecting their free market ideology into public education.

While Ravitch is a superhero to many discouraged public educators, she rejects superhero solutions to public education problems. "I have no silver bullets--because none exist--but I have proposals based on evidence and experience," writes Ravitch. A life lived looking at schools certainly affords her this perspective. Reign of Error spells out the comprehensive, community-wide solutions required to support public schools plagued with socioeconomic problems larger than what public educators can handle by themselves.

For those of us who have regularly followed Ravitch's recent work, we do not find anything in her new book shocking. Many of my own blog postings have piggy-backed off Ravitch's thoughtful work. Ravitch calls for tried-and-true reforms focusing on equity, improving early childhood care, ending high-stakes testing, expanding middle class-like enrichment to needy students, developing and respecting educators, reducing class sizes, fully funding public education, and more.

Reign of Error will hopefully serve as an antithesis to the 1983 Nation at Risk, which was the catalyst for thirty years of misplaced blame put on public schools for what in reality are problems caused by trends. Ravitch calls for a re-do on school reform. As Ravitch stated, "You can't do the right things until you stop doing the wrong things."

Public education advocates will also not be surprised to see the free market reformers lash out with well-funded, emotional messages attacking Ravitch. Reign of Error outs the reformers trying to raze public education. Their typical defense is to speak loudly and attack the messenger. This is, after all, just part of the free market process. For market-focused reformers to get ahead, government-run education must not succeed. Free marketeers pretend to be reforming when they are actually focused on destroying. Sadly, America's neediest kids get pinned under the rubble.

To more fully understand the attacks on public education in Wisconsin, more public education supporters must understand the bigger game.

Be a player. Be informed. Read Reign of Error.

Exactly what I expected!

This book was on my wish list for months - and with a gift certificate from my son I finally rewarded myself with this gorgeous nursing history. It was expensive but worth the money. The part I couldn't know by the preview online is that the color plates showing nursing through the years are just as wonderful as I hoped.

Nursing, the finest art-- great book!

I had to buy this book for a college course. I have been buying my books through Amazon for a while now because it is a lot cheaper than getting them at the college bookstore. At first I just thought this was going to be another one of those books that I was going to dread reading... but I have found it really interesting! The material is interesting, the pictures are gorgeous, and I will actually be keeping this textbook for my coffee table rather than trying to sell it back or trade it with another student. This would be a perfect gift for anyone who is a nurse or studying to be a nurse, or anyone who is interested in history, or art.

2 nurses received this book at our nurses week celebration and loved it. It's a wonderful gift for someone who has kept their cap pristine for 30 years and for someone who uses Florence Nightengale as part of their e-mail address....those who truely love nursing! The pictures and stories show the history of nursing across the generations.
